"By tending to and taking care of their garden, they have grown as individuals and have learned to take ownership and responsibility over their plants. In addition, they have gained time to reflect on God and His heart for growing seeds and giving their best harvest to Him first and foremost."
(Taken from the local chapter's Powerpoint Presentation)
Brittany Lotito, Divisional Liaison for Emerging Missions was instrumental in providing these participants the chance at learning lessons of life by planting and growing their own plants when saw the unique possiblities of a Portable Home Garden. She has also been monitoring the activities at LAMP Ministries in Valdosa, Georgia where they recently received a ConAgra grant to install a large custom built unit for the inter-city youth of Valdosta to learn how to grow and maintain their own plants with a Portable Home Garden.
Participants at St. Pete's Garden Café were each given their own space to grow their own plant. They were required to plant, water, and nurture the plant till harvest.
